8.5m Performance Composite Production RIB

Carbon Index and Stimson Yachts have developed a mid-tech composite production RIB that will provide performance, comfort and good styling at a cost effective price.

An interesting feature is the collar, which is set high on the RIB - at least 200mm clear of the water line at rest. This ensures it does not drag in the water nor does it grow weed and algae, whilst remaining low enough to increase stability when the vessel heels to a small degree. The collar also aids stability in tight turns.

The benefits of the wrap-around transom includes the ability to back up to a pontoon or quayside without hitting the stern gear, and the ability to pay off easily and efficiently from alongside a moored vessel or tidal berth.

The deck layout is completely flexible, enabling the owner to configure to his/her own requirements from the outset, or on a day to day basis. By using recessed stainless steel tracks in the deck consoles and seat, mouldings can be installed, located and moved very easily without the need for drilling, bolting or sealing.

This 8.5m RIB is constructed out of E-glass and CoreCell structural foam core, offering a lightweight, durable hull and deck shell.
